Baby or Not Baby… that is the question!

This week we are at 10 weeks. 1/4 of the way through! It is going so fast and slow at the same time! This week though we are one step closer to knowing that our little B is healthy. We had a panorama blood test today (and my hubbie had a cheek swab). It then gets sent away to the US and they isolate the DNA from the baby to check that he/she had all the chromosomes in order. We are hoping and praying all will be fine! There’s a high chance it will be perfect but of course we are nervous. It never occurred to me in the past when thinking about having a baby that there would be all these things to be nervous about during pregnancy! And I don’t know how people can begin to tell people so early before they know all is well.

We find out in 3 weeks the results of the test – the good news is that it takes the place of needing an amino or CVS which have a miscarriage risk. After IVF another needle didn’t sound tempting, especially with that risk!

We’ll also know our baby’s gender then too, and we can stop the debate at home – I think boy and my hubby thinks girl!

I just don’t think it is real yet. Any jokes about labour and having the baby in the car on the way to the hospital etc seem so distant – not something about me! Yet October seems to be coming along steadily – mid. March now! What has happened to this year!
